Waste King ss8000
The Waste King Ss8000 is a continuous feed garbage disposal. It has a twenty-eight hundred
RPM motor.
We couldn't find a video on the ss8000 model but did find one on the ss5000 model.
Interestingly, the video describes this model as the Hush Disposer. Unfortunately the video cannot be imbedded, but
you could do a search and find it if you'd like to take a look.
We did find some reviews online and are posting these below:
This review is based on my comparison of the Waste King Garbage
Disposer SS8000 over the Insinkerator ISE Model 777. There is a chart that compares all of the waste king models to
ISE models at waveplumbing.com. After my disposer was installed I noticed that it is much quieter than my old ISE.
The higher RPM and longer warranty helped me make my decision to select Waste King over ISE. I'd much rather have a
lifetime warranty with Waste King than a 7 year warranty with ISE. And it makes sense to have the extra motor speed
for the same price. Waste King at 2800 RPM over 1725 RPM with Insinkerator.
Comparing the Waste King SS8000 (1 hp) to the ISE
777 (1 hp). The ISE will have more torque, since horsepower equals speed times torque. The WK claim of more speed
means less torque. It is torque that counts. The ISE has a much larger volume grind chamber. The ISE sink drain
opening is about 1/2" larger. This means it is easier to push more and larger garbage into the disposer. The ISE
grinding dogs and grind chamber appear to be heavier material. Look inside each of them.
I think the ISE is worth the additional cost.
Only can say have had Waste King
1 hp gourmet since july 05 its still running like it should. Has many advantages over ISE. I've had 2 ISE'S both
quit after 7 years just about the tine the warranty runs out. Waste king -lifetime -inhome warranty neck opening at
sink opening is narrower than ISE, continous feed . Don't push the splash shield in to chamber any more . Was
always fishing for ISE'S splash shield from day 1. Waste King was much quieter, amazing. Plumber said install was
quicker too. Have disposed of all normal bones e.g steak, pork, chicken etc. Do not do corn husks etc, no clams
either. Just a superior product so far , will know more in 7 years . By the way ISE offered to replace my 2nd one ,
which was a replacement under warranty for the 1st one even though it was 76 months in use and over the 72 month
warranty period. the problem was the same for the 2nd as in the first. Its just a good product
.
We could not find this model for
sale at Amazon at this time but did find some listings at Ebay.
Thanks for visiting the Waste King ss8000 page.
